Our Dental Technology
At 183 Family Dentistry, we believe better tools lead to better care. Our treatment rooms are fitted with modern dental equipment built to deliver accurate diagnoses, gentle procedures, and a calmer visit overall. Whether you’re stopping in for a routine cleaning or sitting down for something more involved, the tech around you is working quietly to keep your appointment smooth and your smile healthy.
Here’s a look at the equipment you’ll find in our operatories:
Digital Radiography
Our digital imaging system captures sharp pictures of your teeth and jaw in seconds. Compared to old film methods, this approach uses far less radiation and shows results on screen almost instantly. That speed lets your dentist spot cavities, bone loss, or root issues right away and walk you through what they see. No waiting, no extra appointments, no guesswork.
3D CBCT Imaging
Our cone beam CT scanner captures detailed 3D images of your teeth, jawbone, sinuses, and nerve pathways in a single quick scan. Standard flat X-rays can miss what sits beneath the surface, but a CBCT view shows the full picture from any angle. We rely on it for implant planning, wisdom tooth extractions, and root canal mapping. The scan wraps up in under a minute and uses a focused dose of radiation aimed only where it’s needed.
Digital Intraoral Cameras
We use a small intraoral camera, roughly the size of a pen, to look inside your mouth at high magnification. The live image appears on the chairside monitor so you see exactly what your dentist sees. Cracked fillings, early decay, and gum changes all become much easier to understand when the picture is right in front of you. It also helps us keep clean visual records of your dental history from one visit to the next.
Chairside Monitors
Each treatment room is fitted with a screen positioned for easy viewing while you relax in the chair. We use it to walk you through X-rays, photos, and treatment plans in plain language. Seeing your own scans during the visit makes decisions easier and removes a lot of the worry that comes with not knowing what’s happening inside your mouth.
Comfortable, Clean Treatment Rooms
Every chair is padded for support during longer visits, and the rooms are kept tidy, bright, and well stocked so your dentist has everything they need within reach. Strict barrier protection and sterilization steps run between every patient, so each room is reset and ready before you arrive.
